The east coast doesn’t want to give in to spring but Las Piñas are here and bringing warm vibes from the south with them. Hailing from La Plata, Argentina the 3 piece is currently on their first US tour and slayed a handful of showcases at SXSW. Their debut full length includes a bunch of upbeat jams that pop and jangle with a garage tinge that never gets old. Check out the track ‘Hawaii’ and come hang with us Friday night at The Cake Shop in Manhattan when we catch them on their stateside run. Their debut full-length Espanto Caribe is out now via Buenos Aires based Crang.
Las Piñas – Hawaii
Black Mountain is nothing new to most connoisseurs of psych or stoner rock but what they are is just plain fucking good. After being completely smitten by the synthy, fuzzed out goodness that is the hook in the debut track Mothers Of The Sun I was completely sold on this 4th full length from the Canadian rockers. Reminiscent of previous tracks like ‘Rollercoaster’ off 2010’s Wilderness Heart and ‘Wucan’ from 2008’s In The Future, this track is a proper introduction to the perfectly paced 4 sided record. The whole record feels like a greatest hits of all the things Black Mountain does well with nothing feeling overdone. Their record IV is out now via Jagjaguwar.
