Damn, February already. We’re still reeling from our Issue 008 launch featuring Takako Minekawa & Dustin Wong. Their 7″ single featuring ‘Payapaya‘ is available now via single issue or subscription purchase in the shop. As we take a brief pause to regroup and plan for another volume of releases, here are two tracks that are helping fend off the impending winter blues.
Amber Arcades-Right Now
Amber Arcades is Utrecht-based musician Annelotte de Graaf. Having caught wind of the project via Shane Butler and Kevin Lareau from Quilt, I was immediately drawn to the ethereal krautrock of lead single ‘Turning Light.’ Leading up to her debut LP for Heavenly Recordings this spring, she’s released ‘Right Now,’ a hazy dream-pop number fit to get lost inside of. Think Broadcast meets Melody’s Echo Chamber.
Margaret Glaspy-You and I
ATO’s newest signing Margaret Glaspy is poised to take the world by storm. Gearing up for her debut at legendary Sear Sound studios, the NYC by way of California songwriter has unveiled singles ‘You and I’ and ‘Somebody to Anybody.’ ‘You and I’ centers around Glaspy’s bone chilling vocals sitting perfectly atop one of the most badass guitar tones I’ve heard in ages. Margaret Glaspy, you have our full attention. See her on tour, or else.
